Paulina Rubio

Paulina Susana Rubio-Dosamantes was born on June 17, 1971 in Mexico City, Mexico. She is known by several names including La Chica Dorada (The Golden Girl), Queen of Latin Pop, and Madonna Latina. She is a popular singer, actress, TV music competition judge, model, and businesswoman. She started her career as an artist in 1982, alongside a pop group called Timbiriche. She left Timbiriche in 1991 to continue her solo musical career. She has collaborated with other artists such as Juanes, Timbiriche, Shakira and Julieta Venegas.

Rubio first album, La Chica Dorada, was released in 1992 under the record label EMI Music. The album placed 2nd on the Latin Pop Billboard chart. In 2001, her album Paulina was the best selling album. She sold over 800,000 copies in the U.S. alone. She had a lot of solo tours such as Paulina World Tour (2001), Pau-Latina World Tour (2004 – 2005), Amor, Luz YSonido (2007), Gran City Pop Tour (2009–10), Brava! Tour (2012), PauRubio Tour (2017) and many others.
