Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski is a former American professional football player born in Amherst, New York on May 14, 1989. He was a tight end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. Gronkowski played football in high school at Williamsville North High School in Williamsville, New York and Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went on to play college football at the University of Arizona for the Arizona Wildcats football team from 2007 to 2009. In 2010 he was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round, 42nd overall, in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract for $4.4 million with a signing bonus of $1.76 million. In 2012 he was signed to a six-year extension contract for $54 million, the largest ever for a tight end. On March 24, 2019 he announced his retirement from the NFL after nine seasons. With the Patriots he became a three-time Super Bowl Champion in Super Bowl XLIX, LI, and LIII and played in 5 Pro Bowls. Gronkowski holds a number of NFL and Patriots records. Throughout his career he recorded 521 receptions, 7,861 receiving yards, 79 receiving touchdowns, and 1 pass defensed.
