Roberto Luongo
Robert Luongo was born in Montreal, QC, Canada on April 4, 1979. The New York Islanders picked him in the round 1 of the 1997 NHL Draft. He won a silver medal in the 1999 World Junior Championships held in Canada.
The Islanders traded him to Florida Panthers in the 2000-01 season. He received a Vezina Trophy in during the 2003-04 season.
Luongo was traded to the Vancouver Canucks before the start of the 2006-07 season. The Canucks traded him back to the Florida Panthers in 2013-14.
He received a World Championship Gold Medal for two consecutive seasons 2002-2004. He also received a World Cup Gold Medal. He is a four-time NHL All-Star Game pick. He also won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2013-14. He received a nomination to the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2017-18.
