Ryan Aderrey
Singer-songwriter Ryan Aderrey was born in Boston, Massachusetts to a songwriter father and a mother who often worked as a back-up singer. He was surrounded by music all his life and was raised listening to artists such as The Beatles and Bob Dylan yet as a child he actually preferred sports to music. He began playing soccer when he was three-years-old and continued to play through high school yet he also spent many weekends with his friend Keshav Singh (one-half of the UK duo JusNow) making beats on Singh’s electronic keyboard.
While attending Boston University as a Journalism student, Aderrey was offered the opportunity to play soccer professionally. He took a leave of absence from college to play for the Dutch team Omniworld. While living in Europe, he began composing songs and posting them to MySpace to positive reviews. A friend with an independent record label in Pittsburgh invited Aderrey to showcase some of his songs. He then spent a full year working with a vocal coach and choreographer before he felt ready to begin writing songs for his debut album What If which was released in April of 2014. He is already looking forward to his next project and has begun working with Grammy-award winning producer Jimmy Douglass who has produced albums for Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, The Rolling Stones, Sean Paul and Kanye West among others.
