Sam Heughan
Sam Heughan is a Scottish actor born in Balmaclellan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland on April 30, 1980. He is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in the show Outlander. While studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama he performed in a number of plays, including The Twists, Crime & Punishment, The Seagull, Prometheus Bound, Romeo and Juliet and others. After graduating, he has since had roles in productions of Outlying Islands, Knives in Hens, The Vortex, Hamlet, The Pearlfisher, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Plague Over England, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Amphibians, Batman Live, and King John. Heughan made his debut on television in 2004 in the show Island at War and continued landing roles in the shows River City, The Wild West, Party Animals, Doctors, Outlander, Rebus and more. In 2010 he made his debut in film in the movie Young Alexander the Great. He has also had roles in the films Emulsion, Heart of Lightness, When the Starlight Ends, The Spy Who Dumped Me, SAS: Red Notice, and Bloodshot. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Satellite Award, four The Anglophile Awards, a TV Guide Award and others.
