Saul “Canelo” Alvarez
On July 18, 1990, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. When he was 14, he started his amateur career in boxing. He won the Championship of Mexico twice.
Alvarez started his career as a professional boxer in 2005. He won the WBA Fedecentro welterweight title in 2008. He won the NABF middleweight title in 2009 by KO. In the same year, he also bagged the WBO Latino title. In 2009. Alvarez won the vacant NABF welterweight title and the WBC Youth World championship title. The next year, he won the vacant WBC Silver Super Welterweight title. He also won the WBC and WBA World Super Welterweight titles against Austin Trout in 2012.
In 2015, Alvarez won the vacant WBC Diamond Middleweight title and WBC World Middleweight title in a match against Miguel Cotto.
