Shane Victorino
Shane Victorino is an American former professional baseball player born in Wailuku, Hawaii on November 30, 1980. He was an outfielder and switch-hitter for the San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the Major League Baseball. In 1999 he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth round of the 1999 Major League Baseball draft. From 1999 to 2002 he played in the Dodgers minor league system for the Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League. In 2002 he was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 2002 Rule 5 draft and made his Major League debut on April 2, 2003. Victorino played two more seasons with the Jacksonville Suns in 2004 and 2005. In 2006 he started playing with the Philadelphia Phillies and was with the team until 2012. While he was with the Phillies, he won three Gold Glove Awards, was named to two MLB All-Star Games, and was a member of the 2008 World Series champions. In 2012 he was traded to the Dodgers and at the end of the year signed a three-year contract with the Boston Red Sex for $39 million. In 2015 he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels and in 2016 signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs. On July 3, 2018, he announced his retirement.
