Siya, born Michele Sherman, is a rapper from Bedford-Stuyvesant who stars in the reality show Sisterhood of Hip Hop. As an openly gay female rapper, she brings LGBT issues and advocacy to the show, as well as to her music. Her debut mixtape, D.Y.K.E., tackles similar issues over its twenty one tracks. Her second mixtape, Better Late Than Never, was downloaded over 75,000 times the day it was released in early 2015. She is currently signed to songwriter and R&B singer Tank.
