Sophia Loren
Sophia Loren is an Italian film actress and singer born in Rome, Kingdom of Italy on September 20, 1934. Loren is one of the last stars alive from the Golden Age of Hollywood. In 1950, at 16 years old, she entered the Miss Italia beauty pageant and was selected as one of the last three finalists. She won the title of Miss Elegance 1950. At 17 years old she started taking acting classes. She made her debut in film in 1950 in the movie I Am the Capataz and continued landing roles in the films Hearts at Sea, Milan Billionaire, Quo Vadis, Anna, I Dream of Zorro, Pilgrim of Love, Girls Marked Danger, Aida, Two Nights With Cleopatra, Woman of the Red Seas, Poverty and Nobility, The Sign of Venus, Lucky to Be a Woman, Legend of the Lost, Houseboat, Two Women, Sunflower, The Voyage, and many more. Loren has had roles in around 100 films over 60 years. She has also been featured in the albums Houseboat, Escándalos Imperiales, Peter and Sophia, Poesie di Salvatore Di Giacomo, and Man Of La Mancha. Throughout her career she has been nominated for numerous awards and has won 5 Golden Globe Awards, two Academy Awards, a Grammy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award among others. In 1994 she was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
