Tee Grizzley, born Terry Sanchez Wallace on March 23rd, 1994 in Detroit, Michigan is a current up and comer on the hip-hop scene. He has been rapping for over a decade, first founding the group Allstars BallHard in middle school. Tee Grizzley’s breakthrough as a solo artist came shortly after being sentenced to jail for three years. While incarcerated Grizzley wrote out his entire debut mix-tape, My Moment.
His mix-tape My Moment spawned a handful of single, including the viral breakthrough song “First Day Out.” Produced by Helluva, the track currently has over 75 million views on YouTube. “First Day Out’s” success led to Tee Grizzley signing a record deal with 300 Entertainment, an imprint of Atlantic Records. The mix-tape produced two more singles, “Second Day Out” in February of 2017 and “From the D to the A” featuring Lil Yachty. Grizzley has found additional success for his mix-tape after an Instagram post by Lebron James, working out to his song “First Day Out” just two days after the Cleveland Cavaliers’ loss in the 2016-2017 NBA Finals went viral, causing Tee’s record sales to triple.
