The Cab
Formed by Alex DeLeon and Cash Colligan in 2005, The Cab was the brainchild of two high school friends who were inspired by the rock groups of the 2000s. They originally promoted their music through Myspace, but began getting serious about their careers when they got Alex Johnson, Alex Marshall, and later Ian Crawford to join. The fully-formed band took a chance and sent their demo to Spencer Smith, a member of the band Panic at the Disco, who was blown away. They were then signed to the label Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen in 2007, and the next year they released their debut album Whisper War.
The band released their second album, Symphony Soldier, in August 2011 after having gone through some changes: Ian Crawford had left the band, was replaced by Bryan Dawson, who also left shortly after, and Cash Colligan left. Despite these changes, the album shot to #10 on the iTunes Album chart, as well as to #62 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band has since toured with groups such as Parachute and All Time Low.
