The Low Anthem
The Low Anthem are a band from Providence, Rhode Island. Current members of the band include Ben Knox Miller, Jeff Prystowsky, Florence Grace Wallis and Bryan Minto. There have also been 7 other people who had been part of the band since 2006.
The Low Anthem’s debut studio album, What the Crow Brings, was released in 2007. This album was the beginning of their career as a renowned indie folk band. Their album success continued into 2008 when they recorded most of their album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, which was to be released later, in 2009. The album was performed across the U.S. at a number of festivals, including the Newport Folk Festival and Austin City Limits. It was also played at Glastonbury and Wireless in the UK.
At this point, The Low Anthem had become established enough on the indie music scene to receive the Boston Music Award for ‘Best Album’ in 2009 and the Mojo Magazine’s ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award’ in 2010. The Low Anthem then went on to record another 3 studio albums, Smart Flesh in 2012, Eyeland in 2016, and a currently unnamed fifth studio album, to be released in 2018.
