The Prodigy
The Prodigy, due to their full sound, are hardly done justice by calling them an “electronic” band; they’re so venerated in the scene that they’re associated more with being a “rave band,” being one of the originators of big beat 1990s music and hardcore electronica. But their style is textured with tinges of punk rock and heavy metal. Their members are Liam Howlett (keyboards, synthesizers, programming, laptop, computer, samples, sequencers, turntables, drum machines), Keith Flint (dancing, vocals), and Maxim Reality (MC, beatboxing, vocals).
The Prodigy are highly honored with winning two Brit Awards, an International Dance Music Award, four MTV Video Music Awards, six MTV Europe Music Awards, a MOBO Award, an MVPA Award, five NME Awards, a Q Award, and a UK Music Video Award. They’ve cut seven albums from 1992 to 2015, and have released singles that chart high worldwide, notably “Firestarter” and “Breathe” (1996) which sold multi-platinum.
