Tommy John
Tommy John was born as Thomas Edward John on Terre Haute, Indiana on May 22, 1943. He joined the big league in 1963 when he signed with the Cleveland Indians. In 1965, he joined the Chicago White Sox. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1972 season. He played in the World Series between Yankees and the Dodgers. He was a four-time All-star pick, in 1968 and from 1978 to 1980.
He became part of the New York Yankees in 1981. He stayed with the California Angels in 192 and then with the Oakland Athletics in 1985. He played for the Yankees again in 1986. He announced his retirement in 1989. He became the manager of the Atlantic League’s Bridgeport Bluefish.
