Tristan Thompson
Tristan Thompson is a Canadian professional basketball player born in Toronto, Canada on March 13, 1991. He is currently a center and power forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. Thompson played basketball in high school at St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. He went on to play college basketball at The University of Texas for the Texas Longhorns from 2010 to 2011. In 2011 he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, 4th overall, in the 2011 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut on December 26, 2011, against the Toronto Raptors. In 2015 he re-signed with the Cavaliers to a five-year contract for $82 million. Thompson also represented Canada in the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship in 2008, the FIBA Under-19 World Championship in 2009, the FIBA Americas Championship in 2013, and the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
