Zbigniew Preisner
Zbigniew Preisner is a Polish composer, best known for composing film scores to acclaimed movies both in the States and abroad. His most noted collaborations are with fellow Pole film director Krzysztof Kieślowski. This brought him to international attention and he was selected by producer Francis Ford Coppola to score the 1993 film “The Secret Garden.”
Preisner has also worked in popular music, such as providing orchestral backing for Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour on his 2006 album “On An Island.” He’s also conducted the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, and has contributed works to the film scores for dozens of films, including “Olivier, Olivier” (1992), “When a Man Loves a Woman” (1994), “Aberdeen” (2000), and “The Beautiful Country” (2004). Zbigniew Preisner has been nominated for two Golden Globes awards.
